The acceptance process — Managed investment schemes
What happens after you submit your application for registration.
You need to send us your correctly completed application by 3pm NZT (working days) for same-day registration.
Once your application is accepted, we will email you a registration certificate and advise the Financial Markets Authority (FMA). If you are a third party acting on behalf of the issuer, we will also email the manager of the scheme.
We may need more information
We may return an application for you to amend and resubmit to us. Some reasons may include a document being illegible or page numbers being inconsistent.
In these situations, we will email you and return your application with a ‘Revise’ flag under the ‘Things to Do’ section of your dashboard. You can make the required corrections to your application by selecting the ‘Continue’ option next to that entry.
You have 5 working days from our notification to make any corrections and return the application to us.
Your scheme will be registered on the date your revised application is accepted, not the original date you sent it.
We may not accept for some reason
Some situations may require us to reject your application.
In these situations, we will email you and your application will show as rejected in the ‘Past Activity’ section of your dashboard.
If your application is rejected, you will need to complete a new application and pay a new registration fee.
